FROM PLANS TO EXECUTION

From project review to construction closeout

ARCHE GROUP / OUR PROCESS

A construction process is useful when it makes responsibilities and decisions visible. This is the sequence ARCHE GROUP has defined for reviewing and delivering a project; the detail is agreed for each engagement.

01

01 / Visit and preconstruction

We begin with a visit to the space and preconstruction review. Drawings, site conditions, specifications and open questions provide the basis for defining the work.

02

02 / Estimate, proposal and contract

The estimate and proposal set out the scope under review. Negotiation and contracting clarify inclusions, exclusions, responsibilities and the terms for proceeding.

03

03 / Permits, purchasing and mobilization

Required approvals and purchasing precede mobilization. The project team must establish who is responsible for each approval and which materials or decisions affect readiness.

Read Preconstruction and permit responsibilities when organizing this stage.

04

04 / Execution

Construction proceeds against the agreed scope. Questions, decisions and changes need a clear route between the client, contractor and relevant design professionals.

Read What affects the project schedule before treating a target date as an agreed schedule.

05

05 / Field and administrative closeout

Closeout addresses the remaining field items and the administrative requirements agreed for the project. A clear completion process begins with defining those requirements in advance.
